Auto Body Shop in Murphysboro, IL

Ask for a written estimate that lists each panel, the paint work and the parts. Ask whether parts are new, used or aftermarket, how the shop matches paint colour, and what warranty covers the finish.

In most cases you can ask for estimates from more than one shop. How an insurance claim works, and any rules about shops, depends on your policy and your state. Ask your insurer before you decide.

A small dent may be pushed or filled and then painted. A badly damaged panel may be replaced. Ask the shop which they suggest for your car and why.

Paint is mixed to match, but sun and age change the colour of the older paint. Ask the shop how they blend new paint with the old and ask to see examples of their work.

Ask. A bumper or panel can hide bent parts behind it. A good question is whether the estimate may change once the car is opened up, and whether the shop will call you first if it does.

The price depends on the size and difficulty of the job. Some pros publish a starting price on their listing. Ask two or three for a written quote that says what is included, and compare the scope as well as the price.

Only customers who contacted a pro through Pros Around can review them, using a link that works once. Pros can reply but cannot delete a review, and reviews are never sold. An admin hides a review only if it breaks our rules, and the reason is recorded.
