IT Support in Cambridge, MA

It can include fixing computers and printers, setting up email and accounts, managing networks and backups, and helping staff with problems. Providers differ, so ask for a clear list of what is covered and what is not.

One-off help fixes a problem when it happens. A managed arrangement means a provider looks after your systems on an ongoing basis under an agreement. Ask what the agreement includes and how you can end it.

Ask the provider how you report a problem, how they set response times, and what happens outside normal working hours. Get any promise about response times in writing, and ask what happens if they miss it.

Ask who will have access to your systems, how that access is granted and removed, and how they protect your data. Ask where backups are kept and how a restore is tested. Be careful to share logins only as far as the work needs.

Write down the problem, when it started and what changed just before. Back up what matters if you can. Make sure someone is on hand who can approve access and answer questions about how you use your systems.

The price depends on the size and difficulty of the job. Some pros publish a starting price on their listing. Ask two or three for a written quote that says what is included, and compare the scope as well as the price.

Only customers who contacted a pro through Pros Around can review them, using a link that works once. Pros can reply but cannot delete a review, and reviews are never sold. An admin hides a review only if it breaks our rules, and the reason is recorded.
