Ask about the dates available, the guest capacity, what is included, such as tables, chairs and set-up, any required caterers or other suppliers, and the noise or end-time rules. Get the answers in writing.

Ask for the full price in writing, including the hire fee, deposits, service charges, taxes, extra hours and any items billed separately. Pros Around does not hold venue prices. Ask when each payment is due.

It differs by venue. Ask what is returned if you cancel or move the date, how much notice is needed, and what happens if the venue cannot host you. Read the contract before you sign.

Some venues allow outside suppliers and others require their own or a list. Ask what is allowed, whether suppliers must show proof of insurance, and whether a fee applies.

Look at the layout, parking, access for guests with mobility needs, restrooms, and a back-up plan for bad weather if part of it is outdoors. Ask to see the room set up for an event, and ask what is not included.
