We’re Still Adding Window Repair Pros in South Lake Tahoe.

Ask the pro to look at it and say what failed. A cracked pane, a broken lock, a worn seal or a stuck sash may each be repaired. Ask them to explain why they suggest repair or replacement and what each choice involves.

It usually means the seal around the sealed unit has failed. Ask the pro whether the glass unit can be replaced in the existing frame or whether the whole window needs replacing.

Keep people and pets away from the glass, and wear thick gloves and shoes if you clean up. Cover the opening with board or heavy plastic if you can do it safely. If the break was a break-in, call the police before touching anything.

It should name the window or windows, the work, the parts and glass, labour, a disposal charge if any, and whether the pro will return if the part must be ordered. Ask about the warranty on the parts and on the work.

Take clear photos of the whole window and of the damage, note the type, such as sliding, single hung or casement, and measure the width and height. The pro may still want to see it in person, because small differences matter.

The price depends on the size and difficulty of the job. Some pros publish a starting price on their listing. Ask two or three for a written quote that says what is included, and compare the scope as well as the price.

Only customers who contacted a pro through Pros Around can review them, using a link that works once. Pros can reply but cannot delete a review, and reviews are never sold. An admin hides a review only if it breaks our rules, and the reason is recorded.

By the plan a pro has chosen, then a Featured badge, then review quality. A higher plan can place a pro higher; between pros on the same plan, reviews decide. Anything paid for is labelled.
