We’re Still Adding Barber Shop Pros in Montello.

Some shops take walk-ins and some work by appointment only. Ask the shop, or check the listing, and ask how long a wait usually is at the time you plan to go.

It depends on the state, and sometimes the city. Ask to see the licence and check the number with the state licensing board. On Pros Around, "Licence verified" means we matched the licence number to the board's record on the date shown. We do not check insurance, so ask for proof of it if it matters to you.

Many barbers also do beard trims and shaves, but each shop decides. Ask which services are offered, whether a hot-towel or straight-razor shave is available, and how tools are cleaned between customers.

Show a photo and use plain words for the length on the sides and top. Ask the barber what will suit your hair and head shape. If you are unsure, ask them to start longer. You can always take more off.

Many do, but ask. Skill with a particular hair type differs from one barber to another, so check recent photos on the listing or ask before you book.

The price depends on the size and difficulty of the job. Some pros publish a starting price on their listing. Ask two or three for a written quote that says what is included, and compare the scope as well as the price.

Only customers who contacted a pro through Pros Around can review them, using a link that works once. Pros can reply but cannot delete a review, and reviews are never sold. An admin hides a review only if it breaks our rules, and the reason is recorded.

By the plan a pro has chosen, then a Featured badge, then review quality. A higher plan can place a pro higher; between pros on the same plan, reviews decide. Anything paid for is labelled.
