Garage Door in West Greenwich, RI

No. The springs hold a lot of tension and can injure you if they let go. Leave spring and cable repairs to a trained technician. If the door is stuck open or shut, ask the company how to secure it until they arrive.

Ask the technician what failed, whether that part can be replaced, and what a new door or opener would involve. Ask for both options in writing, with parts and labour listed, so you can compare.

The parts or door model by name, the opener if it is included, labour, removal of the old door, any springs, tracks or hardware, and the warranty on parts and on labour.

It depends on the state, and sometimes the city. Where a licence is required, ask for the number and check it with the licensing board before work starts. On Pros Around, "Licence verified" means we matched the licence number to the board's record on the date shown. We do not check insurance, so ask for proof of it.

There can be several causes, such as the sensors, the remote, the settings or the track. Describe the exact fault to the company, and ask them to explain what they found. Do not keep forcing a door that is jammed.

The price depends on the size and difficulty of the job. Some pros publish a starting price on their listing. Ask two or three for a written quote that says what is included, and compare the scope as well as the price.

Only customers who contacted a pro through Pros Around can review them, using a link that works once. Pros can reply but cannot delete a review, and reviews are never sold. An admin hides a review only if it breaks our rules, and the reason is recorded.
